Subscription and Access Process
Membership is annual and renewable. We accept payment by bank transfer to our Cairo account, by international card through our payment processor, or by institutional purchase order for Scholar-tier clients. All prices are quoted in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). Approximate USD equivalents are provided for reference and will vary with the exchange rate.
Once payment is confirmed — typically within one business day for card payments and two to three days for bank transfer — you receive an account activation email at the address you registered. Account access is immediate on receipt of the activation link. There are no usage restrictions within your plan tier once your account is active.
For institutional Scholar accounts, we schedule a brief onboarding call to walk through the multi-user account setup, discuss how your team plans to use the resource, and ensure the access structure matches your institutional needs. This call takes approximately thirty minutes and can be arranged at a time convenient to your time zone.
Submit the contact form
Select your preferred plan in the form on our contact page and include your name and organisation (if applicable).

On confirmation of payment, your account is activated and you receive credentials. For Standard and Professional, access is typically same-day. Scholar onboarding is scheduled within two business days.

Frequently Asked Questions
We offer a 14-day access period on the Standard plan for first-time subscribers. No payment details are required to begin the trial. If you decide to continue, you choose your preferred plan and billing cycle at the end of the 14 days. The trial gives you access to the full Standard plan guide catalogue so you can assess the depth and quality of the content before committing.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and the price difference for the remaining billing period is applied as a credit on your next payment. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next annual billing cycle. There are no penalties for changing plans, and we will not attempt to retain you by making the process difficult — simply contact us and the change will be made promptly.
Institutional access under the Scholar plan covers up to 10 named users within a single organisation. An account administrator manages user seats through a simple dashboard — adding, removing, or reassigning seats as your team composition changes. Additional user seats beyond the 10 included can be added at a reduced per-seat rate of EGP 180 per additional user per year. Contact us for a custom quote for larger teams or multi-site institutional licences. We are familiar with the procurement requirements of universities and cultural institutions and can accommodate various contract structures.
We offer a full refund within 30 days of the initial subscription payment if you are unsatisfied with the service, no questions asked. After 30 days, refunds are not available for the current annual period, but cancellation at any time will prevent renewal at the next billing cycle. Refund requests should be submitted through the contact form. For institutional clients who have committed to a multi-year agreement, specific refund terms are set out in the service agreement signed at the time of the institutional subscription.
Yes. Students at accredited universities can access the Standard plan at 50% of the regular price — EGP 140 per year — on production of a valid student ID or institutional email address from a recognised university domain. Student access covers the full Standard plan catalogue. For postgraduate researchers, the Professional plan is available at EGP 480 per year (versus EGP 720 standard) on the same verification basis. Contact us to arrange student pricing before submitting payment.
Standard members receive a quarterly email newsletter summarising all guide updates made in the preceding three months — site openings, closures, price changes, new excavation areas, and any significant changes to the visitor experience. Professional and Scholar members receive individual update notifications within 48 hours of a guide being revised, directly to the email associated with their account. All notifications include a clear summary of what changed and why, so you can quickly assess whether the change is relevant to your planned visit or research.
